Adult Christmas Santa and Elf Booties Crochet Along - by Nicki's Homemade Crafts - Free Crochet Pattern #crochet #freecrochetpattern #santa #elf #booties #christmas #booties #boots

Welcome to Part 1 of the Adult Christmas Santa and Elf Booties Crochet Along that is sponsored by Premier Yarns. For this part of the pattern you will be working on the cuff and the leg part of the booties.

It comes with a video tutorial that will help you with the more challenging, although not difficult rows of this pattern. The video is below the pattern.

If you like, you can crochet both the Santa and the Elf version at the same time as you will have enough time for that. The next part of the pattern will be released on October 7th.

To get all the main information about this Crochet Along, please click HERE!

If you are crocheting both the Santa and the Elf booties, be sure to make the pattern part 4 times which is 2 booties per set. Although that sounds obvious, I still wanted to mention that.

Material list (affiliate):

Stitches used, in US terms:

  • sc = single crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • tr = treble crochet
  • berry stitch (insert hook into the stitch and pull up a loop, ch 3, yo, pull thru 2 loops)

Final Size of the Booties:

8.5 inches tall (when layed out flat, not measuring sole, with no adjustments, and the cuff folded)

10 inches in length (when layed out flat, not measuring sole, with no adjustments)

Gauge:

4 sc x 4 rows = 1 square inch

Instructions:

NOTE: I used both the Santa and the Elf booties to take pictures. Please do not get confused. Just look at the pattern itself and what I am trying to show on the pictures.

All starting chains are not counted and the first stitch of every round or row goes into the same stitch as the starting chain.

Cuff

Start with white (Santa) or cranberry (Elf) yarn

IMPORTANT: The chain count below needs to be a multiple of 6, if no multiple works for you, use a chain number that works for you, but make sure that by row 30 you decreased or increased to a stitch number per round that is divisible by 6. The stitch count is only mentioned for the number of stitches I used.

Chain 42, sl st to the first chain

Round 1: ch 1, 1 sc into each ch, sl st to the first st (42 sts)

Round 2 – 30: ch 1, 1 sc in each st all around, sl st to the first st (42 sts)

Switch to cranberry (Santa) or christmas green (Elf)

Round 31: ch 1, 1 sc in each st all around, sl st to the first st

Round 32: ch 1, *1 berry st, 1 sc, repeat from * all around, sl st to the first st

Round 33: ch 1, *1 sc, 1 berry st, repeat from * all around, sl st to the first st

Below, you can see how the Berry Stitch is made: insert hook into the stitch and pull up a loop, ch 3, yo, pull thru 2 loops

Round 34 – 35: ch 1, 1 sc in each st all around, sl st to the first st

Round 36: ch 2, *1 dc in the next 2 sts, sk 2 sts, 1 tr in the next 2 sts, 1 tr in the skipped sts done from behind, repeat from * all around, sl st to the first st

Round 37 – 38: ch 1, 1 sc in each st all around, sl st to the first st

Round 39: repeat round 33

Round 40: repeat round 32

Round 41: ch 1, * 4 sc, 1 sc dec, repeat from * all around (35 sts)

Round 42 – 43: ch 1, 1 sc in each st all around, sl st to the first st

-> If you want the booties to be longer on the leg, this is the time to add more rounds before starting the heel.

If you need help with the Berry Stitch and Row 36, please check out my video tutorial below!
