Welcome to Part 3! I can’t believe this is already the last part of the Adult Christmas Santa and Elf Booties Crochet Along that is sponsored by Premier Yarns. For this part of the pattern you will be working on the foot sole part of the booties as well as how to sew it all up.
It comes with a video tutorial that can help guide you during parts you might find challenging. It is my first time doing a voice over on a video. I hope this helps you and makes it easier to understand what I am doing. The video is below the pattern.
Be sure to show Work-In-Progress pictures in my Facebook group. I really want to see pictures of your final products. Also I would love to know whether you made it for yourself or for someone else as a gift or maybe to sell it.

If you are crocheting both the Santa and the Elf booties, be sure to make the pattern part 4 times which is 2 booties per set. Although that sounds obvious, I still wanted to mention that.
This Crochet Along is sponsored by Premier Yarns who were also so kind enough to provide us a discount code (NR001) of 10% off for you to purchase the same yarn that I used which is Premier Home Cotton Grande. So, be sure to use the discount code: NR001. This code is valid until October 20th.
Please go to Premier’s Facebook Page and say THANK YOU for sponsoring “Nicki’s Homemade Crafts” and the Nicknacks (nickname for the crocheters who follow me).
Be sure to JOIN my Facebook Crochet Group HERE, so you can see other’s post their progress pictures, share your own and be the first to know when the next part is released.
If you are participating in the Crochet Along, please add this pattern to your FAVORITES LIST ON RAVELRY and add it to your PROJECTS, so you can add your work in progress pictures. Click HERE if you do not know how to!
If you absolutely can’t wait or you do not want to directly participate in the Crochet Along, you can also purchase the pattern already as a pdf by clicking below. The pattern will be free and always free on my website, but a pdf will always be available as a small fee on either Ravelry or Etsy.
Now let’s get started with the pattern for part 3 of the Crochet Along!
Material list (affiliate):
- Premier Home Cotton Grande
- White, Cranberry (red) and Black for the Santa Booties (1 skein each)
- Cranberry (red), Christmas Green and Black for the Elf Booties (1 skein each)
- Side Note: if you are making both Santa and Elf Booties 1 skein of red and 1 skein of black is enough for both sets
- 5.0mm hook
- tapestry needle
- elastic band (optional), if you do not want the cuff and leg part to be slouchy
Stitches used, in US terms:
- sc = single crochet
Final Size of the Booties:
8.5 inches tall (when layed out flat, not measuring sole, with no adjustments, and the cuff folded)
10 inches in length (when layed out flat, not measuring sole, with no adjustments)
4 sc x 4 rows = 1 square inch
NOTE: I used both the Santa and the Elf booties to take pictures. Please do not get confused. Just look at the pattern itself and what I am trying to show on the pictures.
All starting chains are not counted and the first stitch of every round or row goes into the same stitch as the starting chain.
Use black yarn
Row 1: ch 1, 2 sc in first ch, 1sc in the next ch, 2 sc in the last ch, turn (5 sts)
Row 2: ch1, 2 sc in the same st, 1 sc in the next 3 sts, 2 sc in the last ch, turn (7 sts)
Row 3: ch 1, 2 sc in the same st, 1 sc in the next 5 sts, 2 sc in the last ch, turn (9 sts)
Row 4: ch 1, 1 sc in each st, turn
Row 5: ch 1, 2 sc in the same st, 1 sc in the next 7 sts, 2 sc in the last ch, turn (11 sts)
Row 6 – 22: ch 1, 1 sc in each st, turn
-> The number 22 depends on how long your foot is, mine stopped 1 inch away from the bunion or 2 inches from the base/start of the big toe. Whoever does not have a bunion, continue making about 10 more rows of single crochets and skip rows 23 to 32
Row 23: ch 1, 2 sc in the same st, 1 sc in the next 9 sts, 2 sc in the last ch, turn (13 sts)
Row 24: ch 1, 2 sc in the same st, 1 sc in the next 11 sts, 2 sc in the last ch, turn (15 sts)
Row 25 – 30: ch 1, 1 sc in each st, turn
Row 31: ch 1, 1 sc dec, 1 sc in the next 11 sts, 1 sc dec, turn (13 sts)
Row 32: ch 1, 1 sc dec, 1 sc in the next 9 sts, 1 sc dec, turn (11 sts)
Row 33 – 34: ch 1, 1 sc in each st, turn
Row 35: ch 1, 1 sc dec, 1 sc in the next 7 sts, 1 sc dec, turn (9 sts)
Row 36: ch 1, 1 sc dec, 1 sc in the next 5 sts, 1 sc dec, turn (7 sts)
Row 37: ch 1, 1 sc dec, 1 sc in the next 3 sts, 1 sc dec, turn (5 sts)
Fasten off, and weave in the ends.
Using red (Santa) or green (Elf) yarn
Using the overcasting stitch and turning the boot inside out, sew the sole to the boot.
Turn the boot the right way again and crochet 1 round of surface crochet using black yarn right at the edge where black meet red (Santa) or green (Elf) to give it a smooth good-looking edge.
Weave in all the ends.
Optional: You can now add an elastic underneath the folded cuff to prevent from sliding down and make it less slouchy. Although I designed it to make it slouchy and comfy.
You are now done and can use your Christmas Booties! Enjoy 🙂
