Welcome to Part 2 of the Crochet Along for the Purple Passion Project Purse. I hope you all enjoyed the Part 1 of the bag and realized what a great stitch the thermal stitch really is. I am sure you are starting to think about other awesome projects using this stitch.
In Part 2 we will be working on the main body of the purse. You will have one week to finish it before the next part will be released.

During this Part of the Crochet Along for the Purple Passion Project Purse we will be working on the sides and main body of the purse which features the Tri Squares stitch.
Be sure to check out my tutorial HERE. I show how to do it in a row, but explain how you would do it if you would do it in a round as you are in this pattern.
Next week, we will work rest of the bag which is the top edge and the handle of the purse which features the Linked Treble Crochet stitch. Finally, we are adding some buttons and then show off our beautiful crochet project bags to everyone.

In addition, I created a downloadable pdf for you all, that has all the pictures as references added to the back of the pattern. So you can choose whether you want to print them or not. That can save you a lot of ink in the long run.
How to crochet Part 2 of the Purple Passion Project Purse Crochet Along
Material List:

- 1 Caron Big Cake
- 5.0mm hook
- scissors
- tapestry needle
- 3 buttons (I used 6 to have 2 on top of each other) -> needed in Part 3
Final Size:
- 8 in height (without counting the handle x 18 in diameter inches if lying flat
- botton of bag is 5 inches x 12 inches
Stitches used (US terms) for all Parts 1 thru 3:

- dc = double crochet
- ch = chain
- sc = single crochet
- blo = back loop only
- sl st = slip stitch
- fp = front post
- bp = back post
- thermal stitch
- Linked tr = Linked Treble Crochet
- Tri Square = 3 FPDC, 3 BPDC
- Thermal stitch
Gauge:
3 dc in Tri Square Stitch x 2 rounds = 1 square inch
Instructions:

Be sure to check out my Tutorial for the Tri Squares stitch pattern HERE.
Now you will go around the rectangle you just made.
Round 1: Ch 1, 16 sc along the short side, 1 sc in the corner, place 40 sc along the long side, 1 sc in the corner, 16 sc along the short side (74 sts) -> You are only going 3/4 of the way of the round, then starting the new round
You will now start the next round on the long side.
Round 2: Ch 2, 1 dc in each st all around, sl st to the first st (114 sts) (see the picture reference on how to do the first 40 dc’s)
Round 3: Ch 2, *1 FPDC in the next 3 sts, 1 BPDC in the next 3 sts, repeat from * all around, sl st to the first st, (114 sts)
Round 4: Ch 2, *1 BPDC in the next 3 sts, 1 FPDC in the next 3 sts, repeat from * all around, sl st to the first st, (114 sts)
Round 5 – 19: repeat rounds 3 and 4
