I’m Nicole!

My name is Nicole Riley and I am the creator, blogger, and designer for Nicki’s Homemade Crafts. I provide free crochet patterns that are well written with many photos and usually at least one video to help support the ones that need additional help on the patterns. All my patterns are designed with functionality, love, and familiarity in mind. I get inspired by nature and the things that I come across daily.

For a little bit of background about me, I live with my husband, kids and 3 cats and 1 tortoise in San Diego, CA. I am originally from Germany though. Also, I have a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from UCSD and currently still work in research while blogging about crochet on the side.

I always loved crafts and made many paintings and drawings when I was younger. Though I still love those crafts, I am now more into crochet, sewing, beading and taking nature photographs for the past years.

I absolutely love creating crochet patterns and tutorials, as well as help others learn this amazing therapeutic hobby. There is nothing that relaxes me more than sitting in my craft chair and crochet.

My Favs

Did you know that crochet items that you find at a store are all handmade? There is no crocheting machine that can create crocheted items, only a knitting machine exists. We are a special group of people that know a craft that no machine can replicate. That makes me feel good and special. Doesn’t make you feel unique and special too?

I created Nicki’s Homemade Crafts to connect with other crafters and keep everyone updated and share my creations as well as give everyone one page to always come back to, no matter whether you follow me on social media or not. If you don’t follow me yet, please click on the links of the page you would like to follow me in order to get updates, freebies, or promo codes for discounted items on my etsy store.

If you ever have request for a pattern or a tutorial do not hesitate to contact me via my Contact tab above. I am always taking in requests and most of the time can get them done very fast too. I can’t wait to see what you have as ideas for future patterns and tutorials for me to make and create.

Thanks for visiting and exploring my website. Please click on the tabs, such as “Crochet”,  above to see my pattern and tutorials all designed for crocheters from beginners to more advanced in mind.
