One of my husband’s favorite things to watch is sci-fi documentaries. One night while he was watching one of his documentaries, I was inspired to find a collection of crochet patterns related to science fiction. I was pleasantly surprised to find lots of cute patterns for aliens, spaceships, and robots.
Of course, I don’t think you have to be ‘into’ science to enjoy these patterns! These are fun and cute alien/monster/robot patterns that I think almost anyone would enjoy making.

This rocket ship is made in the round from the bottom up. Then you’ll make the window and rocket fins to attach at the end. This is a simple pattern that doesn’t require making a bunch of small pieces.

Crochet Easy Monster Hat Pattern
If you don’t like amigurumi but still want to crochet a fun and cute monster, then this crochet monster hat is a great choice.
You’ll work basic stitches in the round for the hat and then make the eye – also in the round – and then attach it to your hat. Lastly, you’ll add a couple teeth and tufts of monster ‘hair’ if you wish.

These crochet aliens are just adorable! I especially like this pattern because you can choose to make it with worsted weight yarn or super bulky yarn.
If you make this using worsted weight yarn, your alien will be about 12 inches long. However, if you want a bigger, cuddle-sized alien, you can use super bulky yarn and it will end up about 20 inches long.
