Amazing Spiral Pumpkin – Free Crochet Pattern & Tutorial

Learn how to crochet this amazing Spiral Crochet Pumpkin which is free crochet pattern that will help you make your home special and unique.
With the fall season approaching, this Spiral Crochet Pumpkin is the ideal decoration for your home to provide it some extra and unique vibe.
The Spiral Pumpkin features the Spiral Effect as well as the Caron X Pantone yarn by Yarnspirations.
That makes the pumpkin not only special and swirly but also soft and easy to crochet.
The Spiral Pumpkin does not come with a stem crochet pattern, but instead shows off nature by having a piece of tree branch sticking out on the top.
A few weeks ago, when I started seeing pumpkins all around me again, I wanted to create one that was not the typical pumpkin you could find anywhere, whether it is a real or a crafty version.
But instead, provide it with some extra special effect where the spirals around the pumpkin steal the show.
Using the Caron X Pantone yarn for the spiral effect made the Spiral Pumpkin not only easy to crochet but also very soft to the touch.

So let me now get started and tell you what you will need in order to crochet this amazing pattern.
How to crochet the Spiral Pumpkin
Materials:
Stitches used (US terms):
Click HERE to learn these basic stitches
- ch = chain
- sc = single crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- inv sc dec = invisible single crochet decrease
- Spiral Effect
Gauge:
4 rows x 3 sc sts = 1 square inch
Final Size:
3 (Height) x 6 (Diameter) inches (without stem)
Spiral Crochet Pumpkin Written Instructions:
The below instructions explain how to crochet the Spiral Pumpkin.

The video tutorial below shows how to finish up the pumpkin in more detail.
Start with the lightest color of yarn.
Ch 31, starting from the 2nd ch from the hook crochet row 1
Row 1: 1 sc in each st, ch 1, turn
Row 2: 1 sc inc in the first st, 1 sc in each st until the last 2 sts, 1 inv sc dec, ch 1, turn
Change yarn to the next darker orange color, then repeat rows 1 and 2.
Again, change yarn to the next darker orange color and repeat rows 1 and 2.
And again, change yarn to the pink color and repeat rows 1 and 2.
Finally, change yarn to the purple color and repeat rows 1 and 2.
Now, start over with the brightest color and repeat from the beginning until you have 60 rows (6 color sets).
Now fold the long side of the parallelogram in half and sew the 2 short sides together.
After you finished sewing the short sides together creating a tube that has spiral rows, you will sew the openings of the tube together as well. Be sure to add stuffing (polyfill) before closing the second opening all the way.
Finally, you will add a small little stick as the stem for the Pumpkin as well as sew the strings around the pumpkin to create the indents.
After adding the strings with one of the colors (I picked one of the orange colors), the Spiral Pumpkin will look like the below picture and is now ready to be used for your decoration.
