To start, let me now give you the supplies and tools you need in order to crochet this exciting hexagon bag pattern!
How to Crochet the 7 Hexagon Bag
Materials you will need
- WeCrochet Brava (worsted acrylic):
- Red (1 skein)
- Orange (1 skein)
- Canary (1 skein)
- 5.5mm Crochet Hook -> I used Furls Crochet Hook

- scissors
- tapestry needle
Gauge
4 sts x 2 rounds = 1 square inch
Size
12 inches tall (bottom to the beginning of the straps) x 14 inches in width (widest points)

- st/sts = stitch/stitches
- ch = chain
- sk = skip
- sc = single crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- sc thermal stitch
- dc = double crochet
- Mattress stitch

Free Written Pattern for the 7 Crochet Hexagon Bag
First, you’ll crochet 7 hexagons and then the one bag strap before sewing all of the hexagons together and add the strap at the end on the top.
Crochet 7 Hexagons
Switch colors from canary to orange to red, every 2 rounds
R1: MR, 12 dc into ring
All first DC stitches are ATC
R2: *[1 dc,1 tr, 1 dc] in first st (this is the first corner), 1 dc inc in next st. Repeat from * 6 times. (30 sts), sl st
R3: 1 dc, *[1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc] in next tr, 4 dc, Repeat from * 5 times. Then, [1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc] in next tr, 3 dc. (42 sts)
R4: *1 dc in each st until you hit the corner tr stitch, place 1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc] into the tr st, repeat from * all around
Repeat R4 two more times.
Crochet Hexagon Bag Strap
R1: ch 9, starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 sc per ch (8 sts), sl st
R2: 1 sc thermal st per st, turn
Repeat R2 until each strap is 14 inches long.

7 Hexagon Bag Assembly
Sew the hexagons together using the mattress stitch like the picture below (5 of the hexagons are folded in half and organized around 2 hexagons facing each other on the wrong side).
Sew the bag strap to the top of the bag (inner corners of the opening).
Optionally add a lining and/or plastic canvas inside for more stability.
