Plus, this isn’t just a toy—it’s a conversation piece, a comforting lovey, and a decorative flower pot all in one. My kids love flipping it back and forth, and honestly, so do I! Whether you’re making this as a gift or just because, the joy it brings is priceless.

Convertible Free Honey Bear Lovey Bee Flower Pot Crochet Pattern -- Standard Pin

Originally designed as a Mystery Crochet Along (MCAL), this project was such a hit that I knew I had to share it as a free pattern! Even if you’ve never tried crochet blankets or loveys, I’ll guide you through each step with three detailed video tutorials, so you can confidently create this beautiful, convertible bear lovey, which also doubles as a flower pot.

Crochet Poppy Flowers, Bees and Assembly

Now let’s finish this fun Convertible Bear Lovey Bee Poppy Flower Pot with Part 3. Some of you mentioned it may be “Winnie the Pooh”, well, I’ll call it a Honey Bear, as a lovey. It also has bees, poopy flowers AND can be converted into a flower pot. I hope you love this pattern as much as I do.

Of course, you can make the flower pot and honey bear lovey (part of the blanket category, hence “snuggly”) separately. I can’t wait to see your version.

Bear Face Assembly

Bear’s Eyes (in black):

R1: MR, 4 sc, close ring and sl st

Sew eyes to the bear’s head. Embroider on eyebrows and add a triangle (nose) to the snout as well as a mouth.

R3-4: in black, 1 sc per st, cut black about ½ foot

R5-6: in yellow, 1 sc per st, cut yarn about ½ foot

Embroider on the eyes with the black yarn (2 small lines), then tie the black yarn to the beginning yarn end gentile. Weave white yarn ends of the wings through the body centered behind the eyes and tie 2 knots. Tug in all yarn ends (besides the yellow one from the last round) into the body as stuffing. With the last yarn end, weave through the front loops of the last rounds stitches, pull and close the hole and weave in ends.

Tiny Crochet Bees

Assembly

Sew bear’s head to lovey (30 sts to the 30 sts) with the arms (not stuffed) in between.

Then sew the flower pot basket (30 yellow sts) to the bottom of the bear’s and lovey seam. Make sure the basket is right side out when the bear’s head and part of the lovey are tucked INSIDE of the basket.

When the lovey is visible, then the basket is tucked inside the bear’s head from the bottom.

Now sew on 6-12 poppy flowers and/or 6-12 bees to the 12 “corners” of the chevron lovey.

To assemble the flower pot conversion, pull the basket out, flip it, and tuck the bear’s head and part of the lovey inside the basket. Optionally (recommended), add a hair tie to hold the lovey part together like a bouquet without showing the bear’s head. Optionally place additional poppy flowers and bees around and on top of the basket when displayed.
