You’ll first crochet the circle, it’s not done in typical rounds, but father in triangular pieces until the first last row touch and are sewn together to make the circle. Finally, you’ll crochet the shell border in a normal round and regular crochet.

For each st of the 6 sc sts in the magic ring you’ll crochet R1-R4 into it.
Magic Ring, ch 1, add 6 sc to the ring, close the ring, sl st to the 1st st, ch 4, starting from the 2nd ch from the hook
R1 F: 1 TSS in each st and the last st goes into the first st in the magic ring (5 loops on your hook) (forward pass)
R1 R: work stitches off the hook (return pass)
R2 F: 1 TSS per in the next 3 sts (4 loops on your hook and you’re not going into the magic ring)
R2 R: work stitches off the hook
R3 F: 1 TSS per in the next 4 sts, including the same st in the magic ring as R1 (5 loops on your hook)
R3 R: work stitches off the hook
R4: repeat R2
Now focus on the next st (of the 6 sc) in the magic ring and repeat R1-4.
Repeat this pattern until all 6 sc in the magic ring are worked up.
Sew the first and last row (touching rows) in the circle together.
For the border, *1 sc in the 1st st, 3 dc in the next st, repeat from * until the end, sl st to the 1st st, fasten off
