Real-life spiders can certainly be very scary for some people. However, the crochet version of this eight-legged creature can be very cute!

Spiders are a source of fear for some and source of fascination to others, they have certainly been around for a very long time.

They are a huge part of fall and Halloween themes with the crocheted version being more suitable for front door displays and wreaths.

Choose one of these crochet spider patterns to add to your projects for the upcoming Halloween.

Crochet Spider Pom Pom Hat

This Spider Pumpkin Hat is a quick crochet pattern and is ideal for a quick costume idea for Halloween.

It’s fun and easy to make. I have included several video tutorials to help you along the way.

It combines multiple crafts but the results are really fun. Why not combine a pumpkin and a crawly spider?

The spider pom poms on each corner of the hat plus the Jack-o-lantern face make the whole costume complete.

In fact, you could even use glow-in-the-dark yarn, glitter foam, or googly eyes to make the Spider Pumpkin Hat extra spooky and special for Halloween.

Spider Pumpkin Hat is available on my website.

Crochet Spider Tissue Box Cover

Tissue box covers are actually not as hard as they seem. I guess you can compare them with amigurumi patterns!

However, instead of stuffing them with polyfill (unless mentioned that it’s needed), it’s stuffed with a tissue box that can be changed out when the box runs out of tissues.

This Crochet Spider Tissue Box Cover is a cute addition. This pattern is made using only single crochet stitches, as well as pipe cleaners for the spider legs.

Crochet Spider Pom Pom Hat

What better way to get into the spirit of the season than incorporating giant pom pom spiders on your fall crochet hats?

A crochet hat with a Spider Pom Pom on top. And believe me, both the hat and the spider pom pom are super easy and fast to make. It is the perfect beginner crochet project for this time of the year.

Crochet Spider Pom Pom Hat is a free pattern available on my blog.

I also have a separate tutorial on how to make the Pom Pom spider. You do not have to only attach it to the top of the hat.

You can get creative and use it in all sorts of different projects.

Friendly Crochet Spider

If you are in the “I do not like spiders” camp, this pattern is certainly for you.

Instead of a creepy crawly black spider with lots of long legs and eyes looking at you, you can crochet yourself this friendly-looking version.

It would also make a lovely gift for very young children or a great alternative to an octopus people crochet for premature babies.

Their legs would be a great fidget toy for the little ones. Plus who could resist all the cuteness?!

Spider Web Wreath

This quick and easy crochet spider web wreath is a fun Halloween door decoration to greet trick-or-treaters.

Making a crocheted wreath was crazy simple and a great scrap buster.  The wreath cover is just SC stitches and the web is just a few rounds of DC and ch stitches.

You can either use the POM POM spider tutorial or make one this way. Secondly, you can also use the small spider pattern above and add a crochet spider instead.

Leo The Spider

Even if you are not hugely into Halloween decorations, Leo The Spider is definitely one cute enough to get behind.

His fluffy fur and cute little eyes are more sweet than spooky.

He works up so quickly and was really fun to make. Don’t be scared to use the fluffy yarn, you can easily feel the stitches with your fingers.

The body is also worked in continuous rounds with a stitch marker so it’s easy to keep track!

Crochet Spider Mug Rug

This crochet mug rug pattern features the image of a cute spider and there are no ends to weave in at the end.

The pattern uses the tapestry crochet technique worked from a simple graph. This technique utilizes a colorwork chart to illustrate the spider images and tell you which stitch should be which color.
