Instructions:

Make sure to watch the video for Hairpin Lace first. Using the Clover Hairpin Lace tool, put 2 pins into position 2 and 2 (pins are 2cm apart). Then crochet 2 panels each with 40 loops on each side. Before removing the loops from the stick, make sure to add a spare yarn piece through to secure them from twisting.

Each panel has loops on 2 sides. Take 1 side per panel and connect them like this: Insert your hook through 1 loop from one panel, then go to the other panels loops and grab 1 loop and pull them through the first 1 loop, then go back to the first panel and grab the next 1 loop and pull them through the 1 loop on your hook, repeat until all loops are worked up. Secure at the end. Weave in ends.

Now you have the outsider sides loops left. Connect a new yarn on one of the loops, **then go from 1 loop to the next and add 1 sc st per loop, once you reach the end, crochet on the short side of the long rectangle the following: evenly crochet 9 sc sts across, turn, ch 2, 1 sc into a sc from the panel, ch 2, 1 sc into the center loops, ch 2, 1 sc from the panel, ch 2, Repeat from **, at the end, sl st, Next Round, crochet * 1 sc, sk 2, 1 5-dc shell st, sk 2, repeat from * for 3 sides only (leave last short edge for the tassel), sl st.

Fasten off, weave in ends. Create a tassel and connect to the bottom.
