This is a free Tunisian Crochet pattern for a scrunchie. Make this easy Tunisian crochet scrunchie as a healthier alternative to prevent hair breakage.
I was long overdue for a hair trim, so a few weeks ago I went to go see my favorite hairdresser. As she was combing through my hair she remarked how much breakage I had. I knew I had been dealing with breakage but really couldn’t figure out why. Then she asked me how I wear my hair on a daily basis. Well, since I live in San Diego, I tend to wear my hair up a lot because of the warm weather.
My hairdresser suddenly exclaimed, “That’s your problem! Your hair ties are breaking your hair.” She went on to explain that if I wanted to continue to wear my hair up that I should stock up on hair scrunchies instead since they are much gentler on a person’s hair.
Well – you know me. If I can crochet it myself, I’m going to! So I went home and got my creative juices flowing. I picked up my Tunisian crochet hook and went to work on creating the perfect poofy scrunchie for my hair. And I have to say that I love the result!
Whether you’re looking for yourself or you need a quick gift, these crochet scrunchies are perfect! They are practical, work up quickly and use just a little bit of yarn. For me, it’s a win-win-win. So what do you say? Are you ready to make one of these Tunisian crochet scrunchies? Scroll down for the free pattern plus some video tutorials, even to learn cro-hooking.
