DIY Pencil Shaped Pencil Holder with Zipper - Free Crochet Pattern for Back-to-School by Nicki's Homemade Crafts

This DIY Pencil Shaped Pencil Holder is so cool and unique, as well as super easy to make. Not much is needed to create this cool Pencil Holder any child or teacher would love to have. May it could be a Back-To-School for your child or teacher appreciation gift for his/her teacher.

Luckily it really does not take much time to make. Furthermore, it does not use much yarn either, even though it uses 5 different colors.

Pretty much, you will need some yarn, some left over cardboard from a letter sized notepad, a zipper and an old coffee can. With just that you can create this awesome looking pencil holder.

When my kids thought about back-school they right away told me they did not like their older now kind junky looking pencil holder. They wanted a new one that no one else has. That’s is how I came up wit that idea of creating a pencil shaped pencil holder.

And the coolest thing is that it is super sturdy and my kids ca take it to school also. I am sure their teacher will be pretty jealous and would also want one. So, I already have my list for Teacher appreciation week ready: Pencil Shaped Pencil Holders.

Are you ready for Back-to-School? Do your kids still need a cool unique looking pencil holder. Make this one! It took me less than 1 hour to make and that includes designing. So you might actually be much faster!

I can’t wait to see your Pencil Shaped Pencil Holders!

Now, fasten off and weave in all the ends.

Furthermore, you will need to cut out a piece that is about 3 times (as if it would be attached) of the pencil tip. Then cut it it bit smaller once you try to add it inside. Cut it on the round part not the straight edge.

Then glue the paper and the tip (paper being on the inside) together using hot glue.

Next, you will attach a zipper to the coffee container (only half of it) as well as the crocheted piece that goes around the coffee container.

Finally you hot glue the tip to the other half of the zipper as well.

Now you can zip it up and put it on your desk. Zip it open and add your pencil, pens, scissors, etc. You can even use this for your hooks and hide them from your kids, pets and spouse. Haha
