This free crochet pattern is super fast and easy to make and is called 30 Minute Hand Cowl. I literally made this cowl in 30 minutes with just my hands. No crochet hook needed.
This is the perfect crochet pattern for a beginner who is just started to learn how to crochet. It uses only single crochets and is therefore very basic.
But I created this 30 Minute Hand Cowl to finish my set of 30 Minute Hand Patterns. I already created the 30 Minute Hand Beanie that seem to have been very well received.
If you have never tried the 30 Minute Hand Beanie, you really should. I comes with a full video tutorial. Although I did not create one for the 30 Minute Hand Cowl, the video tutorial for the beanie does help you learn how to crochet with your hands as it also uses only single crochets.
If you have never made single crochets before at all, please check out my Crochet 101 tutorials and learn all the basic of crochet and the most important stitches.
For the 30 Minute Hand Beanie I used only one skein. That is all you need to make this cowl. However, if you prefer to make this pattern into an infinity scarf where you can loop the scarf twice around your neck, please double the number of beginning chain stitches and add one extra skein.
You can also make this 30 Minute Hand Cowl into a normal scarf. For that pattern, you simply do not connect the beginning chain into a loop but rather make the pattern flat. Furthermore, I would add additional chains to make the scarf as long as you like. A scarf would probably use 2 to 3 skeins.

This can save you a lot of ink in the long run. You can buy the ad-free, printer-friendly PDF on Ravelry, Etsy, LoveCrafts, and my VIP crochet membership, The Crochet Club.
The 30 Minute Hand Cowl is so cozy and snuggly, but still light and warm at the same time. You will want to use it all the time.
And have you looked at this blue! I just love to use the Lion Brand Hometown USA yarn for crochet hand patterns. This yarn is so light and easy to use, it is just perfect for a crochet pattern like this.
You can get this yarn in any yarn store, although I get mine at JoAnn’s or Walmart, watch out for sales. You can really never have enough of this yarn to make fast and fun little projects.
Because so many of you always would like my patterns as a PDF, I also created the 30 Minute Cowl pattern as a pdf that has all the photos added after the actual pattern. That way you do not have to print out the pictures unless you really want to.
