This beginner-friendly tutorial will walk you through the steps to learn C2C in the round!
Corner-to-corner (C2C) crochet is one of those incredible techniques that looks much more complicated than it actually is. I remember the first time I tried traditional C2C — it blew my mind how diagonal stitches could turn into a perfectly shaped square. But once I found out you could work C2C in the round, it felt like discovering a secret crochet superpower!
In this tutorial, I’ll walk you through the steps to get started, even if you’ve never tried C2C before. Whether you’re a confident beginner or just curious about expanding your crochet skills, I’ll show you everything you need to know — from setting up your first square to increasing, decreasing, and finishing off cleanly. Let’s dive in!

What is C2C in the Round?
C2C in the round is a crochet technique that combines the diagonal building blocks of traditional corner-to-corner (C2C) crochet with the circular construction of working in the round. Instead of creating square or rectangular pieces, this method allows you to build your project outward from a central point in a spiraling or radiating pattern. It’s ideal for round motifs like mandalas, coasters, pillows, or even bags, and gives your work a unique textured look while still following the familiar C2C block structure.
