I remember the first time I folded a piece of paper into an origami shape—it was supposed to be a crane, but I think it turned out more like a messy napkin. 😆

The One-Piece Bag That Had Me Hooked (Literally!)

That love for simple but clever folds stuck with me, and I finally turned it into something even more exciting: this Rectangle Crochet Bag! Made with the C2C (corner to corner) technique, this bag is stitched from just one rectangle and cleverly folded into a chic tri-fold design. No complicated shaping or hundreds of pieces—just one fold, two seams, and you’ve got yourself a stunning crochet bag.

The beauty of this pattern is how it transforms a basic shape into something special. With worsted-weight yarn and the textured C2C stitch, this bag looks intricate and polished despite its simplicity. Whether you’re looking for a new tote for everyday errands, a fun crochet project, or even a handmade gift, this bag is versatile, easy, and sure to be a hit.

The C2C technique might sound intimidating at first, but don’t worry—this pattern comes with 3 video tutorials that guide you through the entire process, including the basic C2C stitch itself. Whether you’re a beginner crocheter or a seasoned pro, these tutorials make the pattern accessible and fun for everyone!

Assembly Instructions

Fold one of the short corners up, and the diagonal corner down. Then fold one of the folded corners towards the other one. See the pictures (or video) for a step-by-step visual demonstration.

Next seam the touching edges together. Add a bag strap ( I added this one), but you can also crochet one. You can even add appliques, or anything else to the bag to decorate it. I hope you LOVED learning C2C. You’ll learn even more when you join the party!
