Lattice Scarf - Free Crochet Pattern

I was recently asked to create a Lattice Scarf to match my other free crochet pattern, the Lattice Beanie. I was so happy someone asked, because the LTC (Lattice Treble Cluster) is so beautiful and elegant.

This scarf can be used for the winter times, but also for weddings or parties to use over a dress as an accent piece.

To make it easy, I included many photos and even a video on how to do this scarf using the LTC.

I hope you like it as much as I do. Be sure sure to share picture with me once you have finished your piece. You can posted on my Facebook page or tag me on Instagram (@nickishomemadecrafts) or even on Twitter (@nickiscrafts).

You will need (click on the item to see which ones I used):

Gauge:

2 LTC’s in rows (vertical) = 1.5 inches

1 LTC in one row (horizontal) = 1 inch

Stitches used (click on a stitch to see the tutorial):

in US terms

Final size of the scarf (but can be expanded):

The scarf is 8 inches (width) x 4ft (length)

Instructions:

Before you start, you will  need to understand that the scarf can easily be adjusted in size whether it is in width or in length. Regarding adjusting the length, that is very easy, just make is longer or shorter (adding or subtracting rows) as you wish.

But regarding making the scarf thinner or wider, you will need to follow the formula = 4 x an even number -1. So for example, for my scarf I used 8 as the even number. So therefore, I had 31 stitches across the row. That is important, otherwise you will have a ¬†“diamond” (what the LTC’s create in the end) that is not complete.

Repeat rows 3 thru 7 until you reach the length desired as a scarf. I did mine 4 ft long and used about 2.5 skeins.

Then fasten off and weave in the ends.

How to do row 3:

Step 1: After crocheting 1 sc, you need to do 1 FPtr which you will add onto the 4th sc from row 1. So, yo twice, and insert your hook behind the sc that the arrow is pointing at, yo and pull thru a loop (4 loops on the hook)

Step 2: After you see 4 loops on the hook, yo and pull thru 2, yo pull thru 2, yo pull thru 2 loops (one loop remaining)
