Filet Crochet: The Perfect Technique for a Crochet Triangle Shawl

Never attempted filet crochet before? Don’t worry. Believe it or not, this is actually a beginner-friendly technique and not scary at all. I promise 🙂

• Premier Yarns Cotton Fair Yarn (52% cotton, 48% acrylic, 100g/317yds) 
  • Sugar Cookie (3 skeins)

You’ll be crocheting 1 triangle shawl.

First dc stitch is always a ch3 or ATC, either of them are counted as a stitch!

IGNORE all the pink areas in the graph. You will NOT use those.

3DC Filet Crochet

Open mesh pixel (white – O) = ch 1, sk 1, 1 dc

Closed Mesh pixel (black – X)  = 1 dc in the next 2 sts

B = [1 ATC, ch 1, 1 dc]
