This pattern is made using 3 DC filet crochet.
You’ll start on the bottom of the graph and IGNORE the PINK PIXELS completely as they are just empty spaces and not part of the shawl.
Each row has an increase on each side (shown as a pixel).
Each first DC is made as an ATC and counted as a stitch.
Written Instructions for the Filet Crochet Scarf
3DC Filet Crochet
Open mesh pixel (white – O) = ch 1, sk 1, 1 dc
Closed Mesh pixel (black – X) = 1 dc in the next 2 sts
Ch 5 (counts as your first dc and ch 1), 1 dc in 5th ch from hook, turn
[1 ATC, ch 1, 1 dc] in same stitch, ch 1, [1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc] in last st, turn
Continue with graph (below)
Increase at the beginning of a row: [1 ATC, ch 1, 1 dc] in same stitch (first pixel of the row)
Increase at the end of a row: [1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc] in the same stitch (last pixel of the row)
Once done, fasten off and weave in your ends. For best results, block your shawl.
