Best Exercises for Crochet Wrist Pain for Relief and Prevention

Crocheters sit a lot and therefore create pain in their arms, shoulders, and back. This review focuses on the best exercises for crochet pain for relief and prevention mentioned in the Crafty Crochet Review Show.
I have chronic back pain, like many people in the world. I was born with a mild case of scoliosis and I also have a straight neck. All of this causes a lot of strain on my muscles which creates lots of pain. Many times I don’t even know where the pain came from. Just recently I had tingles in my hand and fingers. I was worried I had carpal tunnel, but actually it was pain coming from my right back and shoulder plates radiating towards my hands and fingers. Once I did a few exercises and stretches I felt so much better.
I do have a biochemistry degree, but I’m not a doctor. So be sure you check with your doctor before doing any of the exercises shown below.
It is important to know that our entire body is connected. So when you have pain in one part of your body, you likely have pain in a different part. So it is important to exercise the entire body as a whole. Do cardio, strength workouts (I run outside, go to the gym or use Beachbody On Demand) and always stretch. I work out at least 5-7 times per week, each time at least 30-60 minutes. That sure helps to make me feel better and stronger. Which in return allows me to crochet for longer periods of time.
So if you have wrist, arm, shoulder or back pain, and are allowed to work out, please do so. I show some exercises below that are easy and quick to do. I love using a Lacrosse Ball to do a deep tissue massage on my muscles. I also love using these Strength Bands to strengthen muscles beforehand.
To make it easier I created a complete video review about different exercises you can do to relieve and prevent pain – through the Crafty Crochet Review Show which is held every Friday at 12pm, PST on Youtube. You can sign up here for reminder emails.
