This is a free handy wrist pincushion crochet pattern made with just single crochet stitches. This is a great beginner pattern with a video tutorial.
Every crocheter uses tapestry needles, stitch markers, or pins while crocheting. But we also lose them often and quickly. Well, at least I do! LOL So now I have the solution for you! It can be a gift for yourself or someone else. It is the 17th free crochet pattern of the Advent Calendar Mystery Crochet Along.
This handy gift pattern is the 17th pattern (December 17th) of the 24 patterns. The wrist pincushion has a metal lid inside which prevents you from pocking yourself when using the pincushion. But it also has a sewn-on elastic you can replace easily once it’s worn out. So all around it’s an amazingly useful crochet pattern to have handy for any crafty person you want to gift something to.
This pattern as all the patterns in this Advent Calendar Mystery Crochet Along comes with a video tutorial to guide you through the pattern. This pattern’s yarn is Vanna’s choice and was provided by Lion Brand Yarns.

Pattern Notes
First, you’ll start by crocheting the pincushion, working in the round. Then you’ll stuff it with polyfill and set it aside. Next, you’ll work on the wrist strap, and finally, you’ll put it all together.
Instructions for the Wrist Pincushion
Start with a Magic Ring
R1: ch 1, add 7 sc to the ring, close the ring, and crochet in continuous rounds (use a stitch marker)
R2: 2 sc per st
R3: *1 sc, 2 sc in the next st, repeat from * all around
R4: *1 sc in the next 2 sts, 2 sc in the next st, repeat from * all around
R5-10: 1 sc per st, fasten off
For the flat circle, repeat R1-R3, fasten off, and leave a longer tail for sewing.
Add polyfill to the pouch, add the metal lid and the crocheted circle and sew the circle to the pouch. Add more polyfill as you sew them together.
Strap for the Wrist Pincushion
Ch 4, starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 sc per st (3 sts), turn
R2: 1 sc per st, turn
Repeat R2 until it first around your wrist a bit loosely, sew the elastic to the strap, sew the strap to the bottom of the pincushion.
I used an elastic and sewed it on widely so it can be replaced if it gets too loose.
