This sweet crochet heart mittens pattern features half a heart on each mitten. Put them together to complete the heart. The pattern comes in nine sizes so you can make a pair for every member of the family!
It’s day 14 of the 2023 Advent Calendar Mystery Crochet Along (MCAL). So far, I’ve shared lots of unique designs for crochet Christmas gifts and the fun will continue through Christmas Eve! Every day, from December 1st through December 24th, I’ll post one of 24 free crochet patterns for last-minute gifts right here on my blog. You never know which pattern I will release, so make sure to come back daily to reveal a new surprise!
Today’s pattern is an adorable pair of heart mittens. Each mitten is adorned with half a heart so when you bring your hands together, it forms a full heart. The best part is that it’s written for nine (yes, nine!) sizes. So you can make a loving gift for just about anyone, from infants up to adult size. Wouldn’t it be fun to make a matching set for every member of the family to wear in a holiday photos? And although I’m sharing this as a Christmas gift idea, they’d be perfect for Valentine’s Day, too.
These mittens start with a ribbed cuff, which is worked flat. Then you stitch the cuff together and continue to work the body of the mitten in the round, using the linked double crochet stitch. This variation of double crochet eliminates the gaps between stitches, which makes a dense fabric that will protect your hands from cold winter winds. If you’re a new crocheter, this is an easy stitch to learn and I’ve included a video tutorial to help you.
Now, let’s get started!
