This is a free pattern for a crochet hook holder. Keep all of your crochet hooks and notions all in one place. It’s a very handy storage bag!
One of the many perks of being a crochet maker is that we can crochet many of the things we need, rather than having to buy them. For example, we crochet our own hats and scarves for the winter months. We crochet our own beautiful afghans to proudly display in our home. We make our own placemats, coasters, area rugs…the list goes on.
Being able to make our own accessories allows us to customize each piece to our own personal needs and tastes. We can make things in any color we want. Need a pocket? You can add it! Don’t want to sew a zipper in? You can add buttons instead.
Above all, I designed this crochet hook organizer with customizability in mind. I wanted something that was going to be practical, yet easily customizable to fit my needs. And you’re going to be able to do the same when you make this awesome little crochet hook holder for yourself. It’s great to place your different sizes of crochet hooks in order of hook size!
I’m a very organized thinker, so I like functional things. And when I can’t buy them, I make them myself. This is how I came up with the idea for this book-style crochet case for my favorite hooks and patterns.
Why Make a Crochet Hook Holder?
Not all crochet hooks are created equal! For example, some are very skinny, Tunisian crochet hooks are really long, while others have much thicker, ergonomic handles. After all, you cannot have a one–size–fits–all crochet hook holder. As a matter of fact, you can easily adapt the hook holder to fit your own specific hooks. And I recommend that you do!
I am a very practical person. For this reason, I like to design my patterns with pockets on them whenever it’s appropriate. You never know when a little pocket will come in handy. Indeed, a crochet hook case is no exception. Certainly, you will always need little pockets for all of your assorted notions.

Finishing the Crochet Hook Holder
Firstly, sew the right bottom pocket to the inner layer. Then sew the top right pocket with a flap to the inner layer as well. Next, sew the hook pocket to the bottom left corner of the inner layer. Insert your tallest hook so you can see where to sew the protector flap to the inner layer.
Finally, sew hook separator lines using a running stitch to the hook pocket in the distance you need for your hooks. Each brand has different hook measurements. So make sure to test it out. Consequently, I made some smaller hook pockets for thinner hooks (Tunisian hooks) and some larger ones (Furls Hooks).
Next, sew the outer layer to the inner layer and the closure loop and closure flap also to the outer layer. Finally, I added (sewn with cotton thread) snap fasteners to the closure snap and top right pocket.
Additionally, you can also add snap fasteners for the back pocket (between the outer and inner layer) to prevent your patterns/papers/magazines to fall out. Weave in any left-over ends.

Nicki,
I have found a great way to keep all of my patterns together in one place and keep them nice. I use a cheap binder and clear sleeves to put patterns in and have divided them up by what they r so all I have to do is get out my binder and look up my pattern. I also do this for recipes that I copy off the Internet. It’s a easy way to stay organized and keep things all together. For now I only have one binder but know in the future I will have more. Just wanted to share this with u and see if u like the idea. But thanks for the pattern.
Thanks
Merry
