FREE Crochet Reversible Cat Cow Squish Pattern

This Reversible Cat Cow Squish free crochet pattern features many crochet tips, such that even a beginner can crochet it. This free crochet pattern is made with acrylic worsted-weight yarn.
Squish Crochet Patterns are very popular right now, especially for Craft Fairs and Markets. You will likely see many cow squishes in different types of yarn weights. Although this pattern was made with worsted yarn, you can easily also make it in bulky or super bulky yarn. Furthermore, this pattern was designed with acrylic yarn, but it can also be made in polyester or even cotton yarn.
Although I designed this pattern as an amigurumi cat and cow squish such that kids or even adults, can play with it as a toy or puppet, you can totally also use it as a washcloth if you make it cotton yarn (exclude the polyfill in that case).
If you prefer making this pattern non-reversible, check out this modification for a Free Crochet Cow Squish Pattern.
This pattern used to be a mystery crochet along and is broken up like that accordingly.
It’s time to get creative, so let’s get started!

Written Pattern Notes
Keep in mind, that this pattern used to be a Mystery CAL, and therefore the pattern is broken up as such.
You will first crochet the 2 bodies, then all the face and headpieces which you then sew on, before sewing the bodies together at the end.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
To make the pattern easier to read, I wrote each stitch without mentioning sc. So for example:
- ALL stitches are single crochet for the body
- 2w means 1 sc in the next 2 sc stitches, both are in the color white.
- 2w x 4 means crochet 2 white sc stitches in each of the next 4 stitches.
- (1w, 2w) x 4 means crochet 1 white sc in 1 st, 2 white sc in the next st, and repeat from * 3 more times (4 times in total)
- 1w inv dec means 1 invisible single crochet decrease in white

Assembly of the Reversible Cat Cow Squish
For the cat, sew on the ears and the nose, then embroider lines (shown on the video) for the mouth in pink, and then embroider the closed eyes and whiskers (shown on the video).
For the cow, sew on the ears, horns, eyes, and mouth. Add nostrils for the nose (as lines or as a magic ring with 4 sc each).
Finally, flip one (I did the cat) inside out and put it inside the cow’s body, add a little bit of stuffing (not too much). To make sure you don’t have enough stuffing, flip the entire project inside out/reverse it. If it doesn’t reverse, you added too much stuffing.
Then sew the white section together (I used the running stitch) and then the black section.
Now you are done 🙂
