Start with white

R1:  MR, ch 1, 12sc, do NOT close the ring all the way. Need room for clock mechanism

R2: (1 sc, 2 sc) 6 times

R3: (1 sc in 2 sts, 2 sc) 6 times

R4: (1 sc in 3 sts, 2 sc) 6 times

R5: (1 sc in 4 sts, 2 sc) 6 times

R6: (1 sc in 5 sts, 2 sc) 6 times

R7: (1 sc in 6 sts, 2 sc) 6 times

R8: (1 sc in 7 sts, 2 sc) 6 times

R9: (1 sc in 8 sts, 2 sc) 6 times

R10: (1 sc in 9 sts, 2 sc) 6 times

R11: (1 sc in 10 sts, 2 sc) 6 times

R12: (1 sc in 11 sts, 2 sc) 6 times

R13: (1 sc in 12 sts, 2 sc) 6 times

In R14, only the stitch before the chain, the chain and the stitch after the chain are in black, rest is white!

I recommend NOT to carry the black yarn or  it will show/peek through. I recommend cutting and fastening off each black section on the back (will be hidden later with wooden board).

R14: (1 sc in 7 sts, ch 9, do NOT skip any stitches, 1 sc in 6 sts, [1 sc, ch 9, 1 sc] in the same st) 6 times

Push all chain loops to the front side. Ignore the chains in the next round.

I recommend crocheting OVER the black stitches (between the chain loop) to hide some of the black stitches.

R15: (1 sc in 14 sts, 2 sc) 6 times

R16: (1 sc in 15 sts, 2 sc) 6 times

R17: (1 sc in 16 sts, 2 sc) 6 times

Fasten off white, switch to green

I moved the increase to a different spot for the next 2 rounds to make the hexagon a bit more circle shaped

In R18 you’ll “catch” the loops from R14 and crochet over them. Pull them up vertically and crochet over them with 1 sc st while following the round as mentioned.

R18: (1 sc in 10 sts, 2 sc, 1 sc in 7 sts) 6 times

R19: (1 sc in 6 sts, 2 sc, 1 sc in 12 sts) 6 times

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Drill a hole into the center of the wooden board – big enough for the clock mechanism to fit through.

Hot glue the crochet to the wooden board. Then attach the clock mechanism and hot glue the numbers to the front.
