Free crochet trivet pattern featuring the gorgeous jasmine stitch! This thick, textured trivet is quick to make and perfect for showing off a little.
Another year, another amazing Advent Calendar Mystery Crochet Along. This year, we’re celebrating every day until December 24th with 8 stitch tutorials, 8 new free patterns, and 8 giveaway days with prizes galore.
Today’s free pattern pairs will with steaming pots of mashed potatoes, hot pans of stuffing, and freshly baked pies. That’s right, today we’re making a crochet trivet that’s sure to be the star of your holiday table.
Most of my patterns are geared more towards beginners, but sometimes you just need a pattern that lets you show off your skills a little bit. This design uses an eye-catching intermediate crochet stitch that is sure to impress!

This free crochet trivet pattern is all about the Jasmine Stitch, those plush little clusters that puff up like tiny yarn clouds. You can learn all about this textured, eye-catching stitch in yesterday’s free Jasmine Stitch Tutorial blog post.
The jasmine stitch isn’t just here to look cute. It creates a thick, dense fabric that works beautifully for a crochet trivet, giving you that extra layer of protection from hot dishes.
No floppy fabric, no sad scorch marks. Just sturdy, squishy stitches that hold their shape and make your kitchen feel a little more handmade.
The best part is that this pattern is quick enough to finish in one sitting. Make one for yourself, make a stack of pot holders as gifts, or turn it into a matching set for your kitchen.
