Elegant Crochet Bookmark Pattern
Materials you will need
- Circulo Amigurumi Cotton Sport Yarn (125g/278yd)
- Neutral (1 skein)
- 2.5mm crochet hook – WeCrochet Dots Hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry Needle
Gauge
6 sts x 3 rows = 1 square inch
Size
2.5 x 7 inches (without tassel)
Stitches used in the pattern
Learn all the basic crochet stitches HERE (US crochet terms)
- st/sts = stitch/stitches
- ch = chain
- sl st = slip stitch (I use the invisible sl st – learn it here)
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet
- Block and off set shell stitch
- ATC = Alternative Turning Chain

Instructions for the Elegant Lace Crochet Bookmark
Ch 15, start from the 2nd ch from the hook
R2: ATC, 1 dc in 3 sts, Skip 2 chs, Shell stitch (5 dc in same ch), ch 2, skip 3 chs, 1 dc in 4 sts, turn.
Push all chain loops to the front side.
R3: ATC, 1 dc in 3 sts, skip the next ch-2 sp and 1 dc. Into the next stitch (2nd DC) work the Shell stitch (5 dc in same st), ch 2, skip 3 chs, 1 dc in 4 sts, turn
Repeat R3 till you reach 7 inches in height
For the tassel, cut 6 inch yarn stripes. I cut 15 pieces. Fold them in half and wrap the same yarn around the area towards the fold about 4-5 times, fasten off and attach the tassel to the pointy area of the bookmark.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
