Free Halloween Crochet Wind Spinner Pattern
Materials you will need
- WeCrochet Brava Worsted Yarn
- orange
- black
- purple
- yellow
- Lion Brand Glow in the Dark Worsted Yarn
- white
- 4.0mm hook
- Plastic eyes (ghost)
- Polyfill
- felt or leather for jack o lantern face
- hot glue for face
- scissors
- tapestry needle
Gauge
4 sts x 4 rows = 1 square inch
Size
5 x 15 inches

Pumpkin
Orange Yarn
R1: Magic Ring and add 6 sc, close ring, continuous rounds, use stitch marker
R2: 2 sc per st
R3: (1 sc, 2 sc) x 6
R4: (1 sc in 2 sts, 2 sc) x 6
R5: (1 sc in 3 sts, 2 sc) x 6
R6: (1 sc in 4 sts, 2 sc) x 6
R7: (1 sc in 5 sts, 2 sc) x 6
R8-19: 1 sc per st
R20: (1 sc in 5 sts, 1 inv sc dec) x 6
R21: (1 sc in 4 sts, 1 inv sc dec) x 6
R22: (1 sc in 3 sts, 1 inv sc dec) x 6
R23: (1 sc in 2 sts, 1 inv sc dec) x 6
R24: (1 sc, 1 inv sc dec) x 6
Stuff with polyfill firmly (without seeing polyfill peak out though)
R25: inv sc dec all around, weave yarn through front loops, pull to close, then weave yarn in and out through the center towards the magic ring 6 times for the ridges (pull tightly each time). Fasten off
Cut 3 triangles and the mouth using felt or leather and glue it to the front side of the pumpkin

Black yarn
R1: MR, 3 sc, close the ring, stitch marker, continuous rounds
R2: 2 sc per st
R3: (1 sc, 2 sc) x 3
R4: 1 sc per st
R5: (1 sc in 2 sts, 2 sc) x 3
R6: 1 sc per st
R7: (1 sc in 3 sts, 2 sc) x 3
R8: 1 sc per st
R9: (1 sc in 4 sts, 2 sc) x 3
R10: 1 sc per st
R11: (1 sc in 5 sts, 2 sc) x 3
R12: 1 sc per st
R13: (1 sc in 6 sts, 2 sc) x 3, sl st, drop the black, pick up the purple
R14: 1 sc per st, sl st
R15: (1 sc in 7 sts, 2 sc) x 3, sl st
R16: 1 sc per st, sl st, cut the purple, pick up the black
R17: (1 sc in 8 sts, 2 sc) x 3, sl st
R18: (1 sc in 4 sts, 2 sc) x 6, sl st
R19: (1 sc in 5 sts, 2 sc) x 6, sl st
R20: (1 sc in 6 sts, 2 sc) x 6, sl st, fasten off
Embroider on the yellow/gold buckle over one small section of the purple stripe
Sew of glue the witch hat to the top of the pumpkin
Wind Spinner
Switch colors every row, I started with black, then purple, then orange
R1: Ch 16, start from the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 sc per st, fasten off
R2: (first dc is an ATC or ch 3), 2 dc per st, fasten off
R3: (first dc is an ATC or ch 3), 3 dc per st, fasten off, then sew to the bottom of the pumpkin
Ghost Pattern
Use Glow in the Dark Yarn
Crochet R1-4 twice (cutting after the first circle is done – that is the bottom – continue with the 2nd circle – that is the body)
R1: Magic Ring and add 6 sc, close ring, continuous rounds, use stitch marker
R2: 2 sc per st
R3: (1 sc, 2 sc) x 6
R4: (1 sc in 2 sts, 2 sc) x 6
R5-14: 1 sc per st
Add plastic eyes (optionally also a mouth)
Stuff the body with polyfill
Put the bottom circle above the last round crocheted and crochet over both layers at the same time the following pattern: *1 sc, 4 dc, repeat all around from *, fasten off weave in your ends and sew the top of the ghost to the bottom of the wind spinner
