Instructions for the Crochet Broomstick Lace Stitch
Before you start crocheting the Zipper Pouch, Wine Bottle Holder or Flower Pot, let’s first go through the stitch tutorial and learn how to crochet this stitch.
INSTRUCTIONS:
You’ll need a 25mm knitting needle (like this one) or a tool with a circumference of 3.25 inches
To make a swatch to practice this stitch, make a chain with a multiple of 5.
R1: make the last loop BIG, and place it onto the knitting needle. Go to the next stitch (don’t skip stitches), pull up a loop and place it onto the knitting needle. Continue that with all the stitches until you have a multiple of 5 loops on the knitting needle
R2: now work 5 loops off the needle at the time (pull only 5 off at the time or all of them but be gentle then to not change the size of the loops), ch 1, 5 sc sts around/ the 5 loops held together. Then grab the next 5 loops and add 5 sc around them as well. Continue like that until you worked off all of them.
Repeat R1 and R2 for the pattern.

Now that you have learned the Broomstick Lace stitch, you can get started on these patterns (get all 3 in the ebook here) published for free as part of the Advent Calendar Mystery CAL.
