Mosaic Crochet Keyboard Wrist Cushion with Storage Solution
The Keyboard Wrist Cushion with Storage Solution Pattern was designed with a Mosaic Crochet Beginner in mind. I used only basic Crochet Stitches, such as Single and Double Crochet Stitches.
Although this pattern was made with worsted yarn, you can easily also make it in dk or super bulky yarn, but it will make the project smaller or larger, respectively. This pattern was designed with acrylic yarn, but it can also be made in polyester or even cotton yarn.
This pattern used to be a mystery crochet along and is broken up like that accordingly.
It’s time to get creative, so let’s get started!

Written Pattern Notes
Keep in mind, that this pattern used to be a Mystery CAL, and therefore the pattern is broken up as such.
Pattern Notes:
The first row of the mosaic crochet piece is done with a regular sc in the back bump. All following rows will be the sc in blo unless mentioned otherwise.
The mdc stitch is a dc stitch in the flo 2 rows down of the same color.
All first and last stitches of the rows are regular sc.
1 blank pixel (regardless of the color) is an sc in the blo (besides the ones mentioned above).
All pixels with an X are mdc.
1 pixel equals 1 stitch.
Cut your yarn after every row, and leave about 1-3 inch tails on both sides.
All odd rows are the yarn you have more of (variegated for me). And all even rows are the other color.
If there is no number listed, it means 1 stitch (e.g. (sc) = 1 sc stitch))

Ch 184, make a loop such that each round has 184 stitches

Placemat and Assembly
Subscribe to my Youtube Channel here:
Written Pattern:
Keyboard Placemat and Bottom or Storage Compartment
I used the variegated yarn for this.
Ch 82, start from the 2nd ch from the hook
R1: 1 ATC, 1 dc in the rest of the stitches, turn
ATC = Alternative Turning Chain, Stacked Single Crochet, OR make a ch 3 and count as a stitch.
Repeat R1 until you have the length needed. I have loose tension and made 21 rows.
Storage Compartment Dividers
I made 2, but you can make more. Whatever works for you. You may even want to make them bigger. Depending on your tension etc for the placemat/bottom of the compartment.
I used the non-variegated yarn for this.
Ch 9, starting from the 2nd ch from the hook
R1-7: 1 sc per st, turn
Wrist Cushion Caps
Make 2
I used the non-variegated yarn for this.
Ch 12, start from the 2nd ch from the hook
R1: 1 sc per st, turn
R2-4: 1 sc dec, 1 sc until 2 sts left, 1 sc dec, turn
Assembly
First, fold the wrist cushion rectangle in half, and sew the first and last row together with the whip or mattress stitch.
Stuff the inside with polyfill (the only extra material needed) and sew the end caps on the small opening on each side. Don’t over stuff with polyfill. You can hide the yarn ends from the Mosaic Crochet piece on the inside without having to weave in those ends.
Now sew the compartment wall to the end of the long placemat. Then sew the dividers on.
Next, optionally sew the cushion to the other side of the placemat (I didn’t do that).
Now you’re done. And you can use it for your regular keyboard OR a short keyboard (here is the one I used) with a track mouse (here is the one I used).
Don’t forget to join Facebook Group “Crocheting with Nicki” and show off your crochet creation. I would love to admire them and cheer you on as you’re working on creating it and after you finished it.
