How to Crochet the Gingerbread Man Bookmark Pattern
Materials you will need
- 4.5 mm hook -> I used a Furls Crochet Metal Streamline Hook – use NICKI15 for 15% off
- Scissors
- tapestry needle
- Optional: googly eyes, felt for buttons, glue
Gauge
3 sts x 4 rounds = 1 square inch
Size
12 x 2.5 inches

- ch = chain
- sl st = slip stitch
- sc = single crochet

Pattern Notes
First, you’ll start by making the body, then you’ll move on to the arms and legs. Lastly, you’ll make the head and add his face and the buttons.
Instructions for the Gingerbread Man Bookmark
Chain 6
R1: starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 sc per ch, turn (5 sts)
R2-30: 1 sc per st, turn
Crochet Gingerbread Man Legs and Arms
Crochet 2 arms + 2 legs all same way.
R1: attach your camel yarn, 1 sc per row or st (depending on whether it’s an arm or leg) until you have 3 sc sts, turn
R2: 1 sc per st, turn
Change colors during the last st to white
R3-4: repeat R2
Change colors during the last st to white
R5: repeat R2
R6: 1 sc dec over all 3 sts, fasten off
Crochet Gingerbread Man Head
R1: make a magic ring and add 7 sc sts, close the ring
R2: 2 sc per st
R3: *1 sc, then 2 sc in the next st, repeat from * all around
R4: 1 sc in the next 3 sts (neck), then sew the head to the body
Add the mouth, eyes, and the buttons (mine are felt circles).
