Hidden Rainbow Free Tunisian Crochet Reversible Hat Pattern

This is a free reversible hat crochet pattern made with Tunisian crochet stitches in rows and rounds using cro-hooking. This is a great intermediate pattern using worsted Premier Yarns.
I’m currently loving reversible crochet patterns so much. They bring me so much joy. The idea that you can wear one piece of crochet multiple different ways. This reversible hat pattern can also be a beanie, meaning you don’t have to add a snap pom pom at all, it even looks great without it.
This reversible hat pattern is special as it’s made with Tunisian Crochet and looks knit-like as I used Tunisian Knit and Purl Stitches. Furthermore, I not only used regular Tunisian Crochet (in rows) for the ribbing but also cro-hooking using double-ended Tunisian Crochet Hooks for the body of this hat. That allows you to use 2 skeins of yarn and therefore, 2 colors to make the pattern reversible and so so beautiful.
The Premier Yarns Sweet Roll Vivid worsted yarn really makes the hat come to alive to have a hidden rainbow peaking through the white Everyday yarn Tunisian Knit stitches. Turn the hat around and you see the full glory of the rainbow.

Pattern Notes
You can make this hat pattern for any hat size, just reference the table below. You can also make this hat slouchy. The pattern is written for non-slouchy.
Hat Ribbing
First, use the next page’s hat size reference table and note the head circumference for the head you’re making the hat for. Next, note the height of the hat. If you want to make it slouchy add 2 -3 inches for the height.
The below pattern is for an adult size, as an example. Make sure to measure the “hat circumference” once you made the first row as the chain stretch prevents accurate measurements.
Ch 62 (for an adult-sized hat)
R1 F: starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 TSS in each st (forward pass)
R1 R: work stitches off the hook (return pass)
R2 F: *1 TKS, 1 TPS, repeat from *, finish with an edge stitch
R2 R: work stitches off the hook
Repeat R2 7-9 more times depending on how big you want your ribbing to be.
Hat Body
To start the Hat’s Body, you’ll now crochet in rounds. Fold over the rectangle and now crochet through the first and last row at the same time.
R1 F: 1 TKS per st in continuous rounds in white
R1 R: work stitches off the hook using the primary color using the other end of the double-ended hook whenever you can’t add more loops to your hook
Continue R1 until you have the height of the hat you desire to make.
To finish the hat sew through every other stitch on the top opening of the last row. Pull the yarn to close the hole and fasten off and weave in your ends.
I added a snap button on both sides of the hat to make it reversible.
