Chocolate, strawberry, vanilla or made of yarn: cupcakes are a sweet treat in all forms! I’m so excited to share my newest no-sew amigurumi pattern: the No-Sew Crochet Cupcake. If you love fast, easy, and ultra-cute projects that don’t require any sewing, you’re going to eat this one up.

Craft Fair Bestseller – Crochet Cupcake
There are a lot of super cute crochet cupcake patterns out there, but they’re not all optimized for making for craft fairs.
Made with super bulky chenille yarn and a 4.5mm hook, this crochet confection is squishy, beginner-friendly, and incredibly quick to work up.
The thickness of the yarn weight is perfect for making the fluffiest frosting and the fact that there’s no sewing involved helps cut down on time spent crocheting so you can finish this project in a snap!
That makes this cupcake toy perfect for last-minute gifts, or for whipping up a whole baker’s dozen to bring to your next craft fair table.
Small in stature, this crochet cupcake is only 3.5 x 4.5 inches but what it lacks in size it makes up for in sweetness.
As an added bonus, it’s small enough to put on a keychain, or to use as adorable additions to party favor bags, or how about making some bag charms?

R2: 2 sc per st (12 sts)
R3: (1 sc, 2 sc) 6 times (18 sts)
R4: 1 sc in blo all around
R5: (1 sc in 5 sts, 2 sc) 3 times (21 sts)
R6: (1 sc in 6 sts, 2 sc) 3 times (24 sts)
R7: (1 sc in 7 sts, 2 sc) 3 times (27 sts)
Cut brown, attach white yarn (or whatever icing color you want) to start the top of the cupcake
R8: sl st all around
R9: in flo (of the sl st’s) (1 sl st, [1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 sc] in the same st) repeat all around
R10: 1 sc per st in leftover blo all around
R11: all stitches go into the blo, (1 sc, 1 inv sc dec) 9 times
Stuff now
R12: all stitches go into the blo, inv sc dec all around
Leaving the opening open, now crochet downwards in a spiral on the outside of the crochet part using sc sts (ideally into the leftover flo sts of round R10 – R12)
Crochet Cupcake INSTRUCTIONS continued:
Now attach the red yarn to the opening on R12
R13: 1 sc in blo (9 sts)
R14-15: 1 sc per st
Stuff more
R16: inv sc dec all around. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for closing the opening.
Weave through front loops of R16, pull as you go and close the hole.
Now use some worsted brown yarn and attach it on the top, make a small knot and then add some school glue and let it dry to harden it as the stem of the cherry.
Now embroider on sprinkles with worsted yarn around the white “frosting”. I used yellow, blue and green yarn for that but you can use different colors too.
