Free Quick Crochet Cat Amigurumi Squish Pattern

This free crochet cat amigurumi pattern is made quickly and with super bulky chenille yarn for a super cozy and fluffy purple Halloween plush toy or decor.
If you love cats, amigurumi, Halloween, or simply quick patterns, then you’re in for a treat with this adorable kitty squish pattern. The cat’s head and body are made from one sphere. Adding on the 4 legs, 2 ears, 1 tail, and a cute black face makes this cat the perfect beginner-friendly pattern.
I crocheted my cute cat amigurumi in less than 1 hour. If I crochet fast, I can properly crochet this cat in 30 minutes. Furthermore, I added some floral wire to the tail to make it bendable, and therefore more fun to play with. Will you add wire too?
Universal Yarn
Universal Yarn is sponsoring this Video Tutorial to crochet this adorable quick cat squish crochet pattern. They also sent me some additional yarn, all clickable in the list below, which I reviewed at the beginning of the video. I definitely recommend checking out their yarn.
PS: Did you know Universal Yarn has been around for more than a decade? Their yarn is high quality, elegant, and durable—the perfect combination for any crochet project.

Chenille Yarn for Amigurumi Patterns
The best yarn for this cute crochet cat squish amigurumi pattern is Bella Chenille Yarn. It’s so amazingly soft and durable and works up great. There is not a lot of chenille fluff falling off while crocheting and sewing with this yarn, which makes this yarn very user-friendly and enjoyable to work with.
I also used some black anti-pilling worsted yarn for embroidering on the face of this adorable kitty cat. I recommend Uptown Worsted for this part of the pattern.
Although I crocheted this cat in purple Bella Chenille Yarn, I can totally see it also in orange, black, grey, or multi-colored yarn for a more realistic cat look. Which color will you crochet your cat in?

Optionally add wire inside the tail before sewing it on at the back right above, yet between, the legs.
Cat Face
Using black worsted yarn, sew/embroider on the nose first (like a small triangle), right below (centered) the eyes, then add a small line down, and then 2 half circles broken up into 3 small running stitch lines (use pinned to help guide you, like shown in the video) on each side for the mouth. Finally sew on 3 whisker lines on each side, about 2 stitches away from the mouth.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
You’re now done and can enjoy your new cute kitty.
