Asymmetric Scarf Crochet Patterns
Let’s start with the most fascinating scarf crochet patterns. Asymmetric scarves seem to be trending lately. So far I have designed 3 different types. Two of them are boomerang scarves and one of them is a diamond-shaped scarf.
I’m amazed you can easily crochet an asymmetric scarf with simple double crochet stitches. Each of them was made with a filet crochet type of pattern.
Normal Scarf Crochet Patterns
But if you prefer normal scarf patterns, and these 5 are the ones you want to look at. They are a mixture of scarves. From a super easy scarf pattern, the Chevron Scarf, to a more advanced one, such as the Diamond Scarf.
All of these scarves above are made by combining simple basic crochet stitches into special patterns such that they all create a beautiful unique look. That makes the scarf pop out and look so special.
Cowl Crochet Patterns
Let’s take a look at my cowl crochet patterns. When I first started designing, I didn’t know the difference between a cowl and an infinity scarf. I do know it now.
A cowl is one loop as a scarf around your neck, whereas an infinity scarf is one that can be wrapped around multiple times (at least twice). So some of my pattern names do not reflect that actual meaning. Sorry. But because Google can be picky, I need to leave the names as they are now.
- Waffle Cowl
- 30 Minute Hand Cowl
- Apache Tears Infinity Scarf
- Lemon Peel Infinity Scarf
- Filet Crochet Scarf
So whether you prefer a cowl or an infinity scarf, the above patterns provide you with a nice variety of different options and thickness of a scarf.
Shawl Crochet Patterns
Now, when it comes to shawl crochet patterns, I had to add my asymmetric scarves in the mix. Because they are long enough that they can also work nicely as a shawl.
My biggest shawl is for sure the Royal Granny Shawl. And it is oh so beautiful, too.
Tunisian Crochet Scarf Patterns
Now, if you have never tried Tunisian Crochet before, you should really give it a try. I even have a Tunisian Crochet Beginner Guide for you, if you need one. But when it comes to Tunisian Crochet, a scarf is really the easiest and fastest way to learn this beautiful technique.
Wow. That is a lot of scarf, cowl and shawl patterns. I didn’t even know I had that many. If you need more inspiration, I have another list of scarves to get inspired with. The same is true for Dabbles and Babbles.
