How to Crochet the Lemon Peel Infinity Scarf – Easy and Free Pattern

This free crochet pattern is called the Lemon Peel Infinity Scarf. This Easy Scarf crochet pattern uses the lemon peel stitch and is made quickly within a few hours.


When I created the Lemon Peel Hat a few weeks ago, I knew I had to create a collection using the Lemon Peel Stitch. It is such an elegant, but still super easy stitch pattern that you can create so many amazing patterns with it.

The entire Lemon Peel collection will feature Premier Yarns Anti-Pilling Heather yarn in the color Blue Heather(this color is no longer available, this Twilight Blue is a good substitute). Of course you can use any other worsted weighted yarn for this pattern.

Lemon Peel Infinity Scarf - Free Crochet Pattern

How to crochet an Easy Infinity Scarf Crochet Pattern using the Lemon Peel Stitch

Materials:

Stitches used (US terms):

Click HERE to learn these basic stitches

  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • blo = back loop only
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • Lemon Peel Stitch

Gauge:

3 row x 3 sts =1 square inch

Final Size:

One Size fits most: 68 (circumference) x 3.5 (width) inches

Instructions

Make a chain of 186, then connect the first with the last ch with a sl st (Tutorial: how to prevent a twist when making a chain)

R1: crochet in the back bump: starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, one st per ch: *1 sc, 1 dc (Lemon Peel Stitch), repeat from *

You will now crochet in continues rounds, so do not slip stitch till the end.

R2-11: *1 sc, 1 dc, repeat from * until the end of round 11, sl st to finish.

To see the Lemon Peel Stitch a bit closer, check out my picture above or below. You always crochet 1 sc into one stitch which is followed by a double crochet in the next one. Furthermore, you crochet a double crochet on top of a single crochet and vice versa to create the amazing texture and look of a lemon peel.

Once you finish, fasten off and weave in the ends.

How to wear this Easy Infinity Scarf using the Lemon Peel Stitch

I see the Lemon Peel Infinity Scarf being worn in 3 different ways, plus a few bonus ones. Mainly, you would wrap it around your neck once, twice or three times, depending on your mood, style or the temperature around you.

But you could also use the Infinity Scarf to style up your wardrobe in a little different way. You could use the scarf as a belt when wearing a skirt, or pants that need some spicing up.

You could also use it to bring some extra flare to your handbag by using it as the handle instead of the normal ones. Your imagination has no limits. So make this Lemon Peel Infinity Scarf and see how you make yourself feel and look amazing wearing it.
