This is a free practical cotton bowl cozy crochet pattern made with basic crochet stitches. This is a great beginner pattern with a video tutorial.
My absolute most popular crochet pattern is the infamous cotton bowl cozy. Well, after making a larger version for it, I thought it would only be appropriate to make one with handles and pockets. So this cotton bowl cozy is the 7th free crochet pattern of the Advent Calendar Mystery Crochet Along.
This handy gift pattern is the 7th pattern (December 7th) of the 24 patterns. The cotton bowl cozy with handles and pockets is amazing for hot soups, chili, and of course also ice cream or simply to add extra decor to your bowls as home decor. But most importantly the bowl cozies are very handy and practical to prevent you from getting burned or freezing your fingers while enjoying your food.
Quick side note, I can’t recommend you add any cotton bowl cozies to a microwave. I recommend adding your hot or cold bowls to the bowl cozy after using the microwave. But still, make sure to use 100% cotton yarn to prevent any issues or melting of your crocheted yarn.
This pattern is designed so that you can easily change up how big your want your bowl cozy to be, that includes the pockets (or remove them). I personally use the pockets to add crackers, a spoon, tissues, or treats. LOL But the handles are amazing for the transportation of your bowl with cozy.
This pattern as all the patterns in this Advent Calendar Mystery Crochet Along comes with a video tutorial to guide you through the pattern.
