20 Most Amazing Free Crochet Christmas Patterns to Decorate Your Home
Christmastime brings so many fun themes for crochet projects. This selection of patterns features a crochet Christmas wreath, a snowman, stockings, reindeer, and Christmas trees, among others. Some items are merely decorative. Others, like the dish towel and washcloths, are both pretty and practical.
While all of these patterns are relatively easy, there is some variation in skill level and time investment required. You can whip up a small ornament in an hour. Or spend a weekend or two to make a gorgeous Christmas tree skirt that your family will use and love for many years. No matter what, hopefully you will enjoy these patterns and find inspiration for your holiday crocheting.
Reindeer Crochet Christmas Stocking
This crochet stocking pattern features the knit-like waistcoat stitch, which makes color changes the easiest and smoothest, using tapestry crochet (or fair isle) to carry the unused yarn with you. That means the pattern doesn’t use any half double crochet (hdc) or double crochet stitches (dc) or special stitches but instead only basic stitches for an advanced beginner skill level.
The stocking itself is made with a pixel graph to show off snowflakes, stars, a light and ornament garland, a beautiful spiral Christmas tree, and flying reindeer on top. It was originally designed with 2 colors – red and white – but you could add more colors to highlight each image with different colors.

Cat Santa Hat
Now you can dress up everyone in the family for fun holiday photos – even your cat! This Santa hat is designed to fit a standard size adult cat’s head. It’s trimmed with faux fur, just like the traditional human Santa hat.
Some cats are a bit picky about wearing accessories, although they make great Christmas outfits. So please don’t force them to wear them. And remember to keep the ties loose in case they want to kick it off.
