Summary of Episode 22 with Sarah
We started talking about her beginnings when Sarah learned to crochet as a child. Her mum taught her the basic stitches and granny squares.
Later on, Sarah picked up crochet again when she had her children and made each of them a crochet blanket.
Not long after she started designing her own patterns and sharing them with the world. In fact, it was one of Sarah’s makes that inspired me to use a particular technique in my design. Guess what it was?
Sarah has no pets to mess up her yarn but there was a time when her children were little and got their little fingers tangled in a skein or two.
When I asked Sarah what she likes designing the most, she said she was very “flighty” and likes to switch types of projects often. However, if she had to really choose, she would make hats and cowls which she enjoys making.
I asked Sarah what her favorite stitch is, and she picked a very popular one and I must say, I love it too.
We spoke about organizing and schedules and I feel this might be a trait of a lot of people, but Sarah said she would like to be more organized and tends to plan at least three months ahead.
One thing she has learned is that summer is very busy for her, not so much with work but with her children.
I love the cute story Sarah shared about how she has come up with her business name. She is very dedicated to her children.
I asked Sarah what her favorite yarn was and we got into an interesting discussion about weights and fibers and which ones she prefers and when.
Outside of crochet and designing, Sarah loves to do walking outdoors to have some “me time” and enjoy the fresh air. She also loves to journal and do Pilates.
