I’m so excited that Sigoni agreed to join me for my new podcast called Nicki’s Crochet Podcast where I try to reveal crochet designer secrets and allow you to see designers from a totally different perspective.

Summary of Episode 3 with Sigoni
Sigoni reveals the story behind the name Sigoni Macaroni which involves a sweet song her grandmother used to sign every time she saw her.
Sigoni is a military wife and is currently moving very far away right across the world, to the country of the rising sun. Although she was anxious at first, she is really looking forward to exploring new places. Can you guess where it is?
Find out what projects she finds intimidating and what literally “knocks her socks off” when it comes to crocheting. However, she is ready to tackle anything.
I was shocked when Sigoni revealed what technique she simply can not do when it comes to changing colors! However, I came to the rescue with a simple tip you should know too!
Sigoni reveals how she survived trickier times of homeschooling and what she does to get some time to crochet and how she fits in work around her family.
Working on patterns from other designers provides her with the balance between crocheting for designing and crocheting for relaxation. She enjoys learning from the patterns and passing on the knowledge to others.
Sigoni used to have a different hobby before crochet which still involved designing and lots of colors. She does not have much time for it now but brings elements of it into her crochet.
Revealing the exact point when she turned her hobby into a crochet business brings her onto a funny story. She reveals which stitch she learned that prompted her to design her first pattern. She made a Halloween costume for her son and the rest is history.
Sigoni remembers an email from a customer that gave her the best feeling in the world.
When asked how she gets inspired – by yarn or a project, Sigoni reveals buying yarn and letting it sit on the shelf before an idea comes into her head.
She reveals why she has so much yarn and so few designs and what her favorite “couch project” is.
Variegated and different colors would be the best yarn to describe Sigoni. It represents the different sides to her and how her mood changes.
