This is a free handy doorknob organizer crochet pattern with pockets made with just single crochet stitches. This is a great beginner pattern with a video tutorial.
There are many reasons why every household should have at least 1 doorknob organizer. I personally like to use them to remind myself to not forget something before I go somewhere. But I also like doorknob organizers for a guest bedroom to welcome guests with a nice note. It is the 18th free crochet pattern of the Advent Calendar Mystery Crochet Along.
This handy gift pattern is the 18th pattern (December 18th) of the 24 patterns.
It features 2 pockets, a doorknob handle, and a sturdy plastic canvas in the back to prevent the crochet fabric from being stretched out too much.
The doorknob organizer with 2 pockets makes the perfect gift and home decor accessory for reminders and welcome notes for guests.
This pattern as all the patterns in this Advent Calendar Mystery Crochet Along comes with a video tutorial to guide you through the pattern. This pattern’s yarn is 24/7 cotton yarn and was provided by Lion Brand Yarns.

Pattern Notes
First, you’ll start by crocheting the small pocket and then the larger pocket. Next, you’ll crochet the handle and lastly, you add the canvas and sew it all together.
Instructions for the Door Organizer Pockets
Small Pocket
R1: Ch 16, starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 sc per st, turn (15sts)
R2-22: 1 sc per st, turn
Large Pocket
R1: Ch 16, starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 sc per st, turn (15sts)
R2-50: 1 sc per st, turn
Adding the handle
R1: 1 sc in the next 3 sts, turn
R2-32: 1 sc per st, turn
Sew the end of the handle to the opposite side of your pocket.
Cut your canvas to the size you need. Put your small pocket on top and roughly in the center of the large piece then fold the non-handle short edge upward, to create another pocket. Now add the canvas below the crochet pieces and sew all the layers together.
