Summary of Episode 5 with Michelle
We start off chatting about Michelle’s first viral design that every crocheter surely remembers. I love this super cute design that got over 40 million views on Facebook! Can you remember what it was?
Her kids used to ask her for different designs of their favorite animals which turned into a huge collection.
Michelle talks about the idea behind her business name and explains what it means. She started off by selling physical items which later turned into pattern design and writing.
Her very first published mermaid pattern went viral too and that was the defining point in her crochet design journey.
I asked Michelle about her elegant style and she reveals what is her favorite thing to style.
She also reveals a couple of tips and tricks to get beautiful pictures.
There are two stitches that Michelle absolutely adores and I must say those belong amongst my favorites too.
Michelle reveals how she creates so many gorgeous patterns so fast and how much she enjoys working on her YouTube tutorials.
When Michelle crochets in the evening in front of the telly, it does not feel like work and the designs literally fly off her hook.
She reveals what is hiding in multiple bags and baskets dotted around her house and what she is picky about when it comes to crochet.
Recently, Michelle de-stashed a lot of yarn and unfinished projects and reveals how much better that felt.
Wonder what comes first for Michelle – the yarn or the idea? She reveals where she gets ideas from and when she makes selfish projects.
She keeps and uses all her garment designs apart from one accessory that gets handed out to her friends and family. Otherwise, her house would be full of them.
Michelle’s husband was taught how to knit when he was younger, however, he is not a crocheter YET. On the other hand, Michelle’s oldest daughter is an aspiring crocheter and may be a designer one day.

Michelle shows off her latest pattern The Peek-A-Boo Cardigan. It is a beautiful design that is perfect for warmer months.
The finished cardigan is cropped, however with Michelle’s pattern and instructions you can easily adjust it and make it longer.
The stitch is inspired by a stitch Michelle has seen on a market bag. I think it translated to a cardigan beautifully!
Here is what Michelle says about her new design:
“The Peek-A-Boo Crop Cardigan is worked in one piece with a simple crochet mesh stitch pattern. The cardigan can easily be modified to any length and the pattern works up quickly due to the open stitch work. This soft and cozy crochet cardigan is made in Knit Picks/WeCrochet Comfy worsted weight yarn. There is also a Step by Step video in size small on my YouTube.”
