This free pattern and video tutorial will show you how to make a volleyball crochet keychain. It’s the perfect quick gift for volleyball players or sports lovers.

Do you need a great gift for a volleyball fan, athlete, or coach? Key chains are stylish, practical, and easy to customize. With this free crochet pattern and video tutorial, even beginners will be able to create a beautiful and durable volleyball keychain in no time.

You’ll learn how to create a tiny crochet volleyball using three interlocking loops that you sew into a circular shape. Then you’ll add a keyring attachment. If you’d prefer to clip it on a backpack, you could add a lobster clasp instead. You could also choose different colors to reflect your favorite school or volleyball team. This wonderful keepsake is perfect for volleyball fans and a great way to add sporty style to your keys, purse, or backpack.

With just scrap amounts of yarn, a few simple stitches, and a bit of patience, you’ll be able to create a one-of-a-kind keychain that will add some team spirit to your look.

Did you know I played volleyball for 7 years in high school in Germany and even was a volleyball school coach? YES! I loved it. I was also in track and field for 8 years and have a “track and field official” license. I was the head official in my home county for 3 years and a state official for 2 years with my biggest competition being the German Women and Men Competition in 2007 as one of the pole vault officials. This competition was also televised.

Anyways, through this free pattern, which includes a video tutorial, you’ll get the skills and resources needed to design and make your very own volleyball keychain, that you can use to show your loyalty to your team, all year long.

Sewing the Strips together to Make a Volleyball Keychain

Now, sew the short edges of 2 strips together, so you have 2 loops. Put one inside the other.

Now, weave the 3rd strip in and out between around the 2 other strips so they interlock with each other (see video) and sew the short edges of the last strip together. Then stuff the ball and align the strips to show no sewing lines or stuffing.
