It’s made using mostly worsted weight yarn (I used Lion Brand Heartland Yarn) and some fluffy, bulky yarn ( I used Lion Brand Feels Like a Dream) and comes with 3 step-by-step video tutorials, so even beginners can feel confident making it.

How to Crochet a Rectangular Gift Tissue Box Cover – Free Pattern
Materials you will need
- 4mm hook – I used the WeCrochet Dots Hook
- scissors
- tapestry needle
- Rectangular Tissue Box Cover
- Lion Brand Heartland Yarn (100% Acrylic, Worsted, 251 yds/142g)
- 1 skein of Redwood (or any other color/worsted yarn)
- Lion Brand Feels Like a Dream (100% Nylon, Bulky, 207 yds/100g)
- 1/4 skein of Snowflake (or any other color/worsted or bulky yarn)
Gauge
4 sts x 5 rows = 1 square inch
Size
fits a US rectangular tissue box cover
Stitches used in the pattern (US Terms)

- ch = chain
- sk = skip
- sl st = slip stitch
- sc = single crochet

Crochet Pieces the Top of the Tissue Box Cover

Written Pattern:
Top of the Tissue Box Cover
Red
R1: Ch 42, connect first with the last chain such that you keep 42 chains/sts
R1: 2 sc in 1 st (mark first sc), 1 sc, 3 sc in 1 sts (mark 2nd sc), 1 sc in 18 sts, 3 sc in 1 sts (mark 2nd sc), 1 sc, 3 sc in 1 sts (mark 2nd sc), 1 sc in 18 sts, 1 sc in the FIRST st/ch (no sl st, work in continuous rounds)
R2: *1 sc per st, in ALL marked sts crochet 3 sc (always mark the 2nd sc), then continue from * until the end
Repeat R2 until you reach the edge of the cover (I have 9 rounds)


Crochet the Body of the Tissue Box Cover

Red
R1: 1 sc per st
Repeat R1 until you reach the bottom of your tissue box. I made 18 rounds. Fasten off at the end.

Crochet Gift Ribbon

4 straps for the gift ribbon
White
R1: Ch 11, start from the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 sc per st, turn
R2: 1 sc per st, turn
Repeat R2 until you have 17 inches (can be more or less).

Assembly
Sew or glue the ribbon pieces to the body and top of the tissue box cover.
Make the ribbon look like an M at the top, like the image above.
Do this for all 4 ribbon pieces. Ideally, have the ribbon pieces touch at the top by the opening for the tissues.
