Learn to crochet a soft faux fur heart with this free crochet pattern. Ideal as a gift or to simply snuggle up with your loved one.
I love faux fur yarn. It truly is super fun to use and make something cuddly and soft for you. I very much like to use faux fur yarn as ribbing for hats, for pom poms, and of course, anything to snuggle up with, like a pillow. If you wish, you could call this faux fur heart a tiny heart pillow. It’s big enough to fit into 2 adult hands. It makes the perfect head pillow while traveling in a car or on a plane.
Now that Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and WeCrochet has faux fur yarn, aka Fable Fur Yarn, in so many different colors, I just had to crochet a cute heart. And it worked up amazingly fast and it’s super easy.
Crocheting with Faux Fur yarn
It’s important to mention that some crocheters don’t like working with faux fur yarn, for a few reasons. The most important one is that you can’t see your stitches. But WeCrochet accommodated that issue, by adding a band that you can feel behind the faux fur. So you can feel your stitches, even though you can’t see them.
Next, some believe that faux fur yarn is very fuzzy. I actually didn’t have that issue unless I cut some of it. The band where the faux fur yarn is attached to is actually the reason why it’s not fuzzy. It is very sturdy and keeps the faux fur yarn in place.
So if you have never tried Fable Fur yarn, what are you waiting for? ❤️
So, let me now give you the supplies you need in order to crochet this cute heart pouch pattern.

Written Pattern for the Faux Fur Heart:
First, you will crochet the 2 rounded tips of the heart, then connect them and decrease in rounds to the tip of the heart.
Crochet the two rounded tips of the heart
Make 2 rounded tips, only cut yarn on the first finished one
R1: Make a Magic Ring and add 7 sc, close the ring
Crochet in continuous rounds, so be sure to use a stitch marker
R2: 2 sc in each st
R3: *1 sc, 2 sc in the next st, repeat from * till the end of the round
R4: 1 sc in each st, all around
Once you have the 2nd rounded tip of the heart finished at R4, crochet R5 and then repeat R5 on the first rounded tip you made. That way you are combining the 2 together, like the picture below.
R5: 1 sc in each st, all around
Finishing the Heart
R6: 1 sc in each st until you hit the curve or the dip of the heart (see the arrows), make 1 decrease in that area, crochet 1 sc in each st in the areas between those arrows
Repeat R6 until you have only a small opening left, stuff the heart with polyfill and then do sc dec all around and then fasten off.
Now you can use your heart as a gift or as a pillow. Isn’t it so cute and snuggly?
