Instructions for the Crochet Harvest Stitch
Before you start crocheting the Snowman, Trees or Gnome, let’s first go through the stitch tutorial and learn how to crochet this stitch.
INSTRUCTIONS:
To make a swatch to practice this stitch, crochet a multiple of 7 + 3
R1: start from the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 sc per st, turn
ATC = Alternative Turning Chain (height of dc st) or ch 3, both count as a dc st
ALL first dc sts are ATC sts.
Harvest Puff Stitch: (yo, insert hook into st, pull up a loop) 3 times, yo, pull through 6 loops, yo, pull through 2 loops, ch 2, into the same st, yo, insert hook into st, pull up a loop) 3 times, yo, pull through 6 loops, yo, pull through 2 loops
R2: *1 dc in 2 sts, sk 2 sts, 1 harvest puff st, sk 2 sts, repeat from * until the end, finish with 1 dc in 2 sts, turn
R3: *1 dc in 2 sts, into ch-2 space crochet the harvest puff stitch, repeat from * until the end, finish with 1 dc in 2 sts, turn
Repeat R3 for the pattern.
