12 Most Popular Free Multicolor Crochet Patterns + Bonus
1. The Snowflake Tapestry Bag
This is one of those crochet hat patterns that I not only loved designing but also was so extremely excited to share with everyone. It features a special technique called multicolor Tapestry Crochet and is made with single crochets in the back loop only.
2. Polar Bear Washcloth
The Polar Bear Washcloth is not only a fun multicolor crochet pattern to make, but it also shows off the graphgan technique beautifully. It uses only single crochet stitches, lots of different colors, but doesn’t create a headache when changing colors.
3. The Ripple Hat
This hat crochet pattern only uses 2 colors, but one of them is a variegated yarn which makes this pattern even more special. It also features back post double crochet stitches which create that nice ripple effect when changing colors.
4. Single Crochet Tunisian Hat
I have to tell you, that this is an absolute dream. I am not surprised in any way that this hat made the list. It has style, elegance, and most importantly a beautiful texture. It looks like a brick wall when combining single crochet stitches with Tunisian crochet.
5. Striped Ombre Hat
This multicolor hat crochet pattern makes me so excited. It not only features a beautiful transition between 2 different colors but it also uses “Heat Wave” yarn which keeps your head nice and warm when wearing it outside.
6. Striped Velvet Cardigan
I love this cardigan. Using only double crochet stitches the color transitions are easy and smooth and create a stunning effect. And let’s not forget the velvet yarn that makes this cardigan extra cozy.
7. Alphabet and Numbers C2C Blanket
This blanket looks a lot harder than it really is. It is time-consuming but so worth making. This C2C multicolor crochet pattern includes several tutorials guiding you through each challenge step by step.
8. Rolling Waves Blanket
Looking through all my blanket crochet patterns, this is still one of the most popular ones. I’m so excited cause it shows a wave effect through stitches and color transitions by going lighter to darker and vice versa.
9. Rainbow C2C Hat
If you know someone who loves rainbows and/or unicorns then this is the hat for them. The color transitions are easy and smooth and make the hat a stunning multicolor crochet project.
10. Knit-Like Gloves
This crochet pattern features the waistcoat stitch and 2 different colors. But don’t feel intimidated as it’s actually a lot easier than you might think. In fact, this pattern even won a prize and was featured in Simply Crochet Magazine.
11. Knit-Like Crochet Pouch
This pattern not only features the crocheted knit stitch, aka waistcoat stitch, but it is turning out to be a very popular pattern lately. The development of this multicolor pattern has an amazing story too. Be sure to check it out and read the details.
12. Plaid Heart Pillow
This pillow not only shows love but also coziness and how beautiful multicolor crochet patterns can be. Whether you make it as a gift or for the holidays or even for your own home, you will love making it and how it looks in the end.
13. Bonus Paid Crochet Pattern: Snowflake Tapestry Pouch
This multicolor pattern is a bonus pattern and yes, it’s a pretty one for sure. It’s a pouch that can store, hooks, pencils, makeup, or anything else. And it features the technique called tapestry crochet. It is a premium pattern, and it’s a bonus. So it’s not free.
I am not surprised all of these patterns made it into the Top 12 (plus a bonus 😀 ) of the most popular free multicolored crochet patterns.
