Oversized Crochet Poncho Free Pattern

This poncho is made in filet crochet, which forms a lacy pattern of diamonds and zigzags. You can get the oversized crochet poncho free pattern right here!
Do you ever feel like staying in bed but you have to get up and take care of business? This oversized crochet poncho combines the coziness of an afghan with the style of a sweater. So you can pretend you’re snuggled up under your blanket and still look put-together.
If you’re new to making garments, the construction of this crochet poncho couldn’t be simpler. You just make two large rectangles, which you then sew together, leaving an opening in the middle for your head. That’s it!
This crochet poncho is as easy to throw on as it is to make. You can dress it up or down to complement any number of outfits. Leave it loose or accessorize with a thin belt for a more fitted look.
Filet Crochet Pattern Collection
This poncho makes a great first filet crochet project. The lacy diamond pattern looks impressive but is actually made with just basic double crochets and chains. Just follow the filet crochet chart, which I have provided below. If you get stuck, you can always refer to my free stitch tutorials, too!
If you love filet crochet, you’ll be thrilled to know that this oversized crochet poncho pattern is not my first filet crochet pattern. In fact, you can get 30 other filet crochet patterns, 30 extra graphs, and 26 filet crochet video tutorials in my new ebook.
The ebook includes all these filet crochet patterns, stitches, and tips. Additionally, they are organized per category and difficulty, from beginner to more advanced patterns. And for those visual learners, the ebook also includes lots of videos so you can see how the technique is done.
